What is included

From port arrival to final destination — under one roof

Every step after your goods arrive in Germany is handled by PEC Global. Customs, warehouse, preparation and delivery are managed by the same team from the same location in Mettmann.

Customs Clearance as IOR

When your goods arrive at a German port or airport, PEC Global files the customs declaration through Germany’s ATLAS system as your official Importer of Record. We classify HS codes, calculate and pay import duties, and manage the 19% German import VAT on your behalf. No separate customs broker needed.

Port and Airport Collection

After customs release, PEC Global arranges the physical collection of your goods from the port terminal or airport cargo facility. We manage all terminal communication, handle port storage and demurrage where applicable, and transport goods to our warehouse in Mettmann under one instruction from you.

Warehousing in Mettmann

Our warehouse in Mettmann sits at the center of the North Rhine-Westphalia logistics corridor — same-day access to the Rhine-Ruhr region, next-day reach to the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Poland. We offer flexible short and long-term storage with full inventory management and reporting.

FBA Prep and Kitting

For Amazon FBA shipments, we apply FNSKU labels to each unit, prepare cartons to Amazon specifications, build pallets to the required dimensions and book the inbound delivery through Amazon’s carrier network. Rejected FBA deliveries due to preparation errors are eliminated before anything leaves our warehouse.

Last Mile Delivery in Germany

Once goods are prepared, PEC Global delivers to your final destination in Germany — your warehouse, a third-party logistics partner, or directly to Amazon FBA fulfillment centers. We work with established German freight and parcel carriers and provide full tracking from our facility to the delivery confirmation.

EU-Wide Distribution

Goods that clear German customs enter the EU single market and move freely to all 27 member states without further customs procedures. From Mettmann, PEC Global coordinates delivery to the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, France, Poland and beyond through our intra-EU freight network — one contact for the whole continent.

Our process

From arrival in Germany to your final destination — step by step

STEP 01

Your goods arrive at the German entry point

Your shipment lands at Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Frankfurt or Düsseldorf , transported by your international carrier. PEC Global is notified in advance and prepares the customs declaration before arrival. No delays waiting for paperwork. No scrambling at the port.

STEP 02

Customs clearance — handled by PEC Global

PEC Global files as your Importer of Record through Germany’s ATLAS system. We manage HS code classification, duty payment, import VAT, and any customs queries or inspections in German on your behalf. With documentation prepared in advance, clearance takes one to three business days.

STEP 03

Collection from port or airport

Once customs releases the shipment, PEC Global arranges collection from the terminal or cargo facility. We handle all port documentation, terminal fees and transport to our warehouse in Mettmann. You receive confirmation when goods are checked in at our facility.

STEP 04

Warehousing and preparation

Goods are stored at our Mettmann warehouse and prepared for their next destination. For Amazon FBA we handle FNSKU labeling, carton preparation and fulfillment center booking. For general distribution we consolidate, pick and pack, and prepare delivery documentation according to your instructions.

STEP 05

Delivered to your final destination

Your goods are dispatched to the address you specify — your German warehouse, an Amazon FBA center, a distribution partner, or any EU destination. You receive the full documentation package: customs clearance certificate, duty receipt and delivery confirmation.

Amazon FBA Germany

Selling on Amazon.de? We handle everything from port arrival to fulfillment center.

Amazon FBA Germany has requirements that catch most international sellers off guard. Every inbound shipment needs a valid Importer of Record on the customs declaration — Amazon does not accept shipments without one. Units need FNSKU labels applied correctly at a warehouse before delivery. Cartons need to meet Amazon’s specifications. And the delivery slot needs to be pre-booked through Amazon’s carrier network or the booking window closes. PEC Global covers the complete FBA inbound journey: customs clearance as Importer of Record, warehouse receipt at Mettmann, FNSKU and carton prep, and booked delivery to Amazon’s German fulfillment network.

Warehousing and last mile delivery Germany — your questions answered

No. PEC Global handles the German side of the journey. The international transport from your origin country — by ocean or air — is arranged by you or your freight forwarder in the origin country. PEC Global takes over when your goods arrive in Germany: we coordinate collection from the port or airport, clear customs as your Importer of Record, receive the goods at our Mettmann warehouse, and deliver them to their final destination.
Freight forwarding refers to organizing the international transport of goods from one country to another — booking carriers, managing export documentation and coordinating the full international leg. Last mile delivery is the final step: receiving goods at a local facility and delivering them to the end destination. PEC Global specializes in the German-side logistics — customs clearance, warehousing and last mile delivery within Germany and across the EU.
No. Customs clearance is included in the PEC Global service. We act as your Importer of Record and file the ATLAS customs declaration directly. You do not need to engage a separate customs broker in Germany. One contact manages both the customs process and the onward logistics from the moment your goods arrive.
Yes. PEC Global regularly handles FBA inbound shipments across Germany. We manage the full process: customs clearance as Importer of Record, FNSKU labeling and carton prep at our Mettmann warehouse, and pre-booked delivery through Amazon’s carrier network to the correct fulfillment center. Amazon requires a valid importer on every inbound FBA shipment — we provide that.
If your shipment has already arrived and is sitting in port storage, contact us immediately. PEC Global can step in, file the customs declaration and arrange collection even if goods are already at the terminal. We handle the customs process, manage any accrued storage fees where possible, and get your goods moving to our warehouse as quickly as possible.
Yes. Goods that clear German customs enter the EU single market and move freely to all 27 member states without additional customs procedures. From our Mettmann warehouse PEC Global coordinates intra-EU distribution to the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, France, Poland and other destinations through our network of European freight partners.
Both. Some clients use our warehouse as a short-term receiving and preparation point — goods arrive, get prepared and go out within a few days. Others use Mettmann as their permanent European distribution hub, maintaining ongoing stock and fulfilling orders on a regular cycle. We offer flexible storage terms and inventory management to match your volume and replenishment schedule.
Before your goods arrive in Germany, we need the commercial invoice, the packing list, and the bill of lading or airway bill. If your goods require compliance certificates — CE marking, REACH documentation or GPSR paperwork — we need those in advance as well. We review everything before arrival and confirm exactly what is needed so that customs clearance starts immediately when your shipment lands.
